How we feed our flock, and what it means for the eggs you take home.

“We raise these chickens the same way we would if we were producing food exclusively for our own family.”

How we feed them

Our 3-stage feed program

Every bird moves through the same three stages as it grows.

Why it matters

Why corn & soy-free?

Corn and soy are the cheapest, most common commercial chicken feed ingredients — but they're also common allergens and are almost always genetically modified. We use a certified-organic feed program instead, which costs more but produces visibly richer yolks and better nutrition. We are not USDA-certified organic ourselves, but our feed is certified organic.

Yolk color naturally shifts a bit deeper in warmer months when hens have more access to fresh pasture greens; in winter we supplement with the same high-quality feed to keep nutrition consistent year-round.
