Every Stop, Start to Finish

From the beehives to the vegetable garden, here is what your private tour looks like — stop by stop.

01
First Stop

The Beehives

Your tour begins at the beehives — one of the most fascinating stops on the farm. Your guide will walk you through how the colony works, what the bees are producing, and how raw honey goes from comb to jar. You will taste fresh honey right here at the hive.

Second Stop

Chickens, Ducks & Quails

Step inside the chicken yard and meet our flock of pasture-raised hens — a mixed heritage of Rhode Island Red, Barred Plymouth Rock, and Easter Egger crosses. Ducks and quails share the yard, making this one of the busiest and most entertaining stops. VIP guests collect eggs directly from the nesting boxes and take home a dozen.

Third Stop

Nubian Goats

Our Nubian goats are affectionate, curious, and absolutely social. Meet Blossom and Maple, our registered Nubian does from a high butterfat milk-production lineage. With their signature long floppy ears and gentle nature, the goats are one of the highlights for kids of all ages. VIP guests get hands-on: you will learn to milk a Nubian goat yourself under close supervision from your guide.

Fourth Stop

Awassi Sheep

Visit our Awassi sheep, a heritage breed known for its hardiness and gentle temperament. Your guide will share the story behind this breed, their role on the farm, and what makes them distinct from other sheep. Guests can pet and spend time with the sheep in their pasture — an experience that is calming and memorable for children and adults alike.

Fifth Stop

The Bunnies

A crowd favorite, especially for the youngest guests. Our rabbits are calm, friendly, and love being held. Your guide will introduce the bunnies and share what goes into caring for them on the farm. This is often the stop where the littlest visitors decide they never want to leave.

Sixth Stop

Vegetable Garden & Berry Patch

The tour wraps up in our working kitchen garden and berry patch, where seasonal vegetables and fruits grow throughout the warmer months. Your guide will walk you through what is growing, how it is cultivated, and how it connects to the rest of the farm. A hands-on, grounding end to the full farm experience.

Only Available in the VIP Tier

These four experiences elevate the VIP booking into something genuinely rare. You will not find this level of access anywhere else in Monmouth County.

01

Beekeeper Suit & Live Hive Inspection

We suit you up in a full beekeeper’s suit, open the hive, and pull the frames so you can see the colony at work. Your guide explains every frame — brood, honey, the queen. This is a hands-on experience most adults never get.

02

Honeycomb Tasting — Straight from the Comb

There is a significant difference between jarred honey and raw comb honey tasted right at the hive. VIP guests taste honey in its most natural form, with wax comb included. Nothing processed, nothing filtered.

03

Goat Milking Under Supervision

Your guide will walk you through the technique and then let you try it yourself. Learning to milk a Nubian goat is harder than it looks and more satisfying than you expect. A genuinely hands-on moment that guests talk about long after leaving.

04

Egg Collection & Take-Home Dozen

Collect fresh eggs from the nesting boxes yourself — you reach in, the hens cooperate, and you leave with a full dozen pasture-raised eggs from our certified organic, corn-free and soy-free flock. A tangible take-home from a real farm visit.

No Strangers. No Groups. Just Your Family.

Every tour at Marlboro Meadows Farm is booked exclusively for your group. That is not a marketing phrase — it is the structure of how we operate.

Your Guide Is Focused Entirely on You

No splitting attention between multiple families. No waiting for other guests. Your guide is with your group from start to finish, answering every question in full.

You Move at Your Own Pace

Linger at the goats as long as you want. Spend extra time in the chicken yard. There is no schedule to keep up with because the tour runs on your timeline, not a shared group itinerary.

Ask Every Question You Have

Whether you have deep questions about beekeeping or a four-year-old asking why the bunny’s nose wiggles — there is unlimited time and space for every question. No rushing, no crowd dynamics.

Questions About the Full Tour

The Simple Full Tour ($150, up to 5 guests) is a private guided walk of the entire farm — every animal stop, honey tasting, and hands-on petting. The VIP Hands-On Experience ($299, up to 5 guests) includes everything in the Simple Tour plus four exclusive additions: suiting up in a beekeeper’s suit to open and inspect the live hive, tasting raw honey straight from the comb, learning to milk a Nubian goat yourself, and collecting eggs from the nesting boxes to take home a full dozen.
The Simple Full Tour typically runs 60 to 75 minutes. The VIP Hands-On Experience runs approximately 90 to 120 minutes, as it includes additional hands-on activities at multiple stops. Because each tour is fully private, you set the pace — there is no group schedule to keep up with, and your guide will stay with you as long as you need.
Yes. Both tours are family-friendly and welcome children of all ages, including toddlers and infants. Our animals are calm, socialized, and accustomed to visitors of all ages. Children will love petting the goats, sheep, bunnies, and chickens at every stop. Toddlers are welcome with a supervising adult present throughout.
Both tour packages are priced for up to 5 guests. Additional guests are welcome: $10 per person beyond 5 for the Simple Tour and $15 per person beyond 5 for the VIP Experience. Please include your full guest count when booking so we can prepare appropriately for your group.
Wear closed-toe shoes — sneakers or boots are ideal. Avoid sandals or open-toed footwear. Comfortable, casual clothes you do not mind getting slightly dirty are best. VIP guests are provided a full beekeeper suit, so no special clothing is needed for the hive. Sunscreen and a hat are recommended on warm days. Bring a camera — there will be plenty of moments worth capturing.
The pony ride with Cosmo is an optional add-on at $10 per person. It is not included in either the Simple Tour or VIP Experience base price. You can add it when booking or request it on the day of your visit, subject to availability. Cosmo is our resident white pony and a genuine farm favorite.
Guests with known bee sting allergies should consult their physician before booking the VIP Experience, which includes opening the live hive. If you have a severe allergy with anaphylaxis risk, please inform us at booking. Guests with allergies may observe the beekeeping portion from a safe distance rather than participating directly, and every other VIP activity remains fully available. The Simple Tour does not involve opening the hive and is a safer option for those with bee sensitivities.
Book using the form at marlboromeadowsfarm.com/private-farm-tours-marlboro-nj/#book, or contact us directly at (732) 607-4422 or info@marlboromeadowsfarm.com.
