Yes. Both experiences are designed to be safe and enjoyable for children of all ages. For the Simple Bee Tour, guests observe the hives from a comfortable distance with no protective gear needed. For the Full Beekeeping Experience, every guest — including children — receives a properly fitted full beekeeper suit, veil, and gloves before any hive interaction. Our beekeeper guides every step of the process and ensures everyone stays calm and safe. We recommend children be at least 4 years old to get the most out of the experience.

For the Simple Bee Tour, no special clothing is required. We suggest wearing closed-toe shoes and avoiding heavy floral perfumes or colognes, as bees are sensitive to strong scents. For the Full Beekeeping Experience, we provide complete beekeeper suits, veils, and gloves for every guest — you do not need to bring anything. Underneath the suit, comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are all that is needed.

The Simple Bee Tour ($49, up to 5 guests) is an observation experience. Guests view the hives from outside, receive a brief overview of how a bee colony works, and enjoy a honey tasting. No suit is required and guests do not enter the hive area. The Full Beekeeping Experience ($149, up to 5 guests) is a complete hands-on session. Every guest receives a full beekeeper suit, opens the hive, inspects the frames, and learns in depth about the colony hierarchy — queen, workers, and drones — as well as the full range of bee products including honey, beeswax, propolis, royal jelly, bee bread, and bee pollen. Guests also taste raw honey directly from the comb.

Guests with a known severe bee sting allergy (anaphylaxis) should not participate in the Full Beekeeping Experience, as close contact with an open hive carries an inherent risk. The Simple Bee Tour may be suitable for those with mild sensitivities, as guests remain outside the hive area. We strongly recommend that any guest with an allergy history consult their physician before booking and carry any prescribed epinephrine auto-injector. Please disclose allergies when booking so we can best accommodate your group.

Both experiences are private — your group only, no strangers added. The base price covers up to 5 guests. For larger groups, the Simple Bee Tour adds $5 per additional person beyond 5, and the Full Beekeeping Experience adds $10 per additional person beyond 5. Contact us before booking if your group is larger than 10 so we can confirm availability and suitability.

Our beekeeping experiences are offered seasonally, typically from late spring through early fall when the hives are most active and the educational value is highest. Winter months are not suitable for hive inspections, as the colony is in a quiet cluster and opening the hive would harm the bees. The best time to book is May through September. Reach out to confirm availability for your preferred date.

We ask for 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled session may forfeit the deposit. Rescheduling is always welcome when we have advance notice.
